Has anyone sold or in the process of selling loose diamonds?

What tactics have you used to sell your diamonds for profit? What sites such as cashfordiamonds.com have you used that we real and fair for selling them? And did you or did you not go to your local jeweler to sell them? If so, how? And how did you go about getting the diamonds appraised or getting them certified from places like GIA or EGL?
Can I buy them online from place like eBay that are sold by reputable sellers who auction them off? And then can I get them certified and then appraised by multiple appraisers and then sell them?

I only buy diamonds from a local dealer. The reason is the obvious, I can look at them before I buy. I can look at them with my own loupe, and gauge the color with a grading chart. My dealer is also certified to appraise them. Now, realize there is a difference between appraisals that retail stores give and a market value, which is usually less than retail. The only “tactic” is to watch the market and sell when you make a set amount of profit, say 30% over what you paid. You and your dealer can approach this subject together. My dealer is GIA certified btw. I don’t usually buy them mounted in rings or other jewelry, and you have to be very patient before you make a profit, look to the long term. I also wouldn’t buy as a hedge against inflation, or monetary melt down or other conspiracy theory stuff. Diamonds only value are what people give them. You can’t eat them.
Oh, a side thought, I’ve seen people who carry a little tool bag that have their lopue, tweezers, magnifier light etc. Don’t get caught in that silly stuff. A good loupe is all you need. I have two 16x and 30x. It’s more to do with not having a loupe next to my eye I don’t know who’s had it.
